Brimonidine Tartrate 0.1% Eye Drop – BMD Eye Drop, which contains either 0.1 percent or 0.15 percent brimonidine tartrate ophthalmic solution. It is a common treatment for ocular hypertension and glaucoma. It works by targeting alpha-adrenergic receptors to reduce eye pressure and minimize the risk of vision loss. This medication can be used alone or in combination with other eye drops that also lower eye pressure. By decreasing fluid retention and promoting drainage from the eyes, BMD Eye Drop effectively treats ocular hypertension without causing vision disturbances or loss. BMD Eye Drop reduces eye swelling and pain in the inside of the eye, relieving symptoms and avoiding blindness, which is one of the most common causes of vision loss in people aged 60 and over. While side effects are typically mild if you experience eye itching or allergies, it’s important to consult your doctor for relief and temporarily stop the use of the eye drops until advised otherwise. Direction to use

Brimonidine eye drops help lower eye pressure and reduce the risk of losing vision. For better results and proper use read the prescription label carefully and ask the pharmacist. 

• Take out the eye lenses before using the medication.”Wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in after using Brimonidine. 
• Put one drop in the eye  2-3 times a day. After putting in the drop, press the corner of your eye near your nose for about 1 minute.
• Don’t let the dropper touch anything or your eye to keep the drops clean.
• Wait 5-10 minutes before using another eye medication to keep it strong.
• When you first use it, your vision might get blurry for a short time. 
• It might make your eye feel like it’s burning or itching, but tell your doctor if it doesn’t stop.

Precautions Before Using Brimonidine Tartrate 0.1% Eye Drop

BMD Eye Drop is for non-prescription use only. The dosage and duration of use should be as directed by your doctor.

• Patients should be advised not to drive or operate machinery immediately after administration, as temporary blurred vision or drowsiness may occur.
• Patients with known hypersensitivity to brimonidine tartrate or any components of the eye drops should avoid its use.
• Patients with cardiovascular disease, depression, or cerebral or coronary insufficiency should use Brimonidine Tartrate 0.1% Eye Drops with caution.
• Use with caution in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or tricyclic antidepressants, as interactions may occur.

Side Effects

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear after sometime which is which can be a very rare and common kind of discomfort.
