VEPREX-ER 500 Tablets

VEPREX-ER 500 Tablets are used in the treatment of epilepsy. It aids in preventing and managing seizures (fits). Additionally, it helps to avoid migraines. On rare occasions, bipolar disorder may also be treated with it. This medicine is a component of the anticonvulsant or anti-epileptic drug class, which is used to treat epilepsy, seizures, and fits. Additionally, VEPREX-ER 500 Tablets is used to treat and prevent migraines as well as the manic phases of bipolar illness. A sudden spike in brain activity is known as epilepsy. Recurrent seizures are caused by an imbalance in the electrical rhythms of the brain in epilepsy. 

The active ingredient in VEPREX-ER 500 Tablet is divalproex, which reduces the excessive and aberrant nerve activity in the brain. therefore assisting in seizure control. The amount of a chemical compound called GABA is increased by this tablet, which helps inhibit nerve communication across the brain and has a calming effect. assisting in the treatment of bipolar disorder.

Directions

Take this medication orally once daily, or as prescribed by your doctor. If you experience stomach upset, take it with food. Extended-release tablets should not be crushed or chewed. This can result in the drug being released all at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Also, unless the tablets have a score line and your doctor or pharmacist instructs you to do so, do not split them. Without crushing or chewing, swallow the entire or split tablet. The dose is determined by your age, weight, medical condition, response to treatment, and any other medications you are taking. Inform your doctor and pharmacist about all of the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products). To get the most out of this medication, take it on a regular basis. Remember to take it at the same time every day to maintain a consistent level of medication in your blood. 

Precautions

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to divalproex sodium, valproic acid, or valproate sodium, or if you have any other allergies. Inactive ingredients in this product may cause allergic reactions or other problems. For more information, consult your pharmacist.  In particular, mention liver disease, pancreatitis, certain metabolic disorders (such as urea cycle disorders, Alpers-Huttenlocher syndrome), alcohol abuse, bleeding issues, brain disease (dementia), kidney disease, dehydration, and poor nutrition to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If you are pregnant or want to become pregnant, let your doctor know. Pregnancy should not be attempted while taking this medicine. The components in this medicine may be harmful to an unborn child.
