Acetazolamide tablets belong to a group of medicines called carbonic anhydrase inhibitors used to treat glaucoma, oedema, epilepsy, and to treat and prevent altitude/mountain sickness. Acetazolamide is available in the market at Vee Remedies under the brand name IZOLA. Izola works by decreasing the production of fluid inside the eye. Izola tablets are also used to decrease the buildup of body fluids caused by heart failure or certain medications. Izola can work less well over time, so it is usually used only for a short period. It has also been used with other medications to treat certain types of seizures such as petit mal and unlocalized seizures.
